官方、權(quán)威,中文菜單英文譯法連載(蔬菜類) “童子雞”譯成Chicken without sex(還沒(méi)有性生活的雞),“紅燒獅子頭”譯成Red burned lion head(紅燒獅子腦袋)。這些可笑的譯法還是屢見(jiàn)不鮮的,殊不知,早在2012年北京市政府外事辦就出版了《美食譯苑——中文菜單英文譯法》一書(shū),并向北京市各大餐館推廣。此書(shū)共分三章,分別對(duì)中餐、西餐、飲品進(jìn)行了標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的英文翻譯,其中中餐部分細(xì)化到八大菜系,包括魯菜、川菜、閩菜等特色飯菜的介紹和重點(diǎn)翻譯。
該書(shū)的評(píng)審專家陳琳表示,在編制標(biāo)準(zhǔn)譯法時(shí),不少菜名都引發(fā)了編委會(huì)的激烈爭(zhēng)議。陳琳介紹,翻譯時(shí),還考慮中國(guó)文化、國(guó)家政策法律、民族問(wèn)題等?!皷|坡肘子、宮保雞丁,翻譯時(shí),把歷史人名保留了下來(lái);乞丐雞直接翻譯,保留了一個(gè)故事;麻婆豆腐不能翻譯成‘麻臉老太太做的豆腐’,這對(duì)婦女不尊重?!彼Q。
