官方、權(quán)威,中文菜單英文譯法連載(羹湯煲類) “童子雞”譯成Chicken without sex(還沒有性生活的雞),“紅燒獅子頭”譯成Red burned lion head(紅燒獅子腦袋)。這些可笑的譯法還是屢見不鮮的,殊不知,早在2012年北京市政府外事辦就出版了《美食譯苑——中文菜單英文譯法》一書,并向北京市各大餐館推廣。此書共分三章,分別對中餐、西餐、飲品進行了標準的英文翻譯,其中中餐部分細化到八大菜系,包括魯菜、川菜、閩菜等特色飯菜的介紹和重點翻譯。
該書的評審專家陳琳表示,在編制標準譯法時,不少菜名都引發(fā)了編委會的激烈爭議。陳琳介紹,翻譯時,還考慮中國文化、國家政策法律、民族問題等?!皷|坡肘子、宮保雞丁,翻譯時,把歷史人名保留了下來;乞丐雞直接翻譯,保留了一個故事;麻婆豆腐不能翻譯成‘麻臉老太太做的豆腐’,這對婦女不尊重?!彼Q。 羹 湯 煲 類 (Soups) 羹 八寶海茸羹 Seaweed Soup of Eight
