官方、權(quán)威，中文菜單英文譯法連載（羹湯煲類） “童子雞”譯成Chicken without sex(還沒有性生活的雞)，“紅燒獅子頭”譯成Red burned lion head(紅燒獅子腦袋)。這些可笑的譯法還是屢見不鮮的，殊不知，早在2012年北京市政府外事辦就出版了《美食譯苑——中文菜單英文譯法》一書，并向北京市各大餐館推廣。此書共分三章，分別對中餐、西餐、飲品進行了標準的英文翻譯，其中中餐部分細化到八大菜系，包括魯菜、川菜、閩菜等特色飯菜的介紹和重點翻譯。
該書的評審專家陳琳表示，在編制標準譯法時，不少菜名都引發(fā)了編委會的激烈爭議。陳琳介紹，翻譯時，還考慮中國文化、國家政策法律、民族問題等?！皷|坡肘子、宮保雞丁，翻譯時，把歷史人名保留了下來；乞丐雞直接翻譯，保留了一個故事；麻婆豆腐不能翻譯成‘麻臉老太太做的豆腐’，這對婦女不尊重?！彼Q。 羹 湯 煲 類 (Soups) 羹 八寶海茸羹 Seaweed Soup of Eight
